On October 31, 2024, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guangzhou Municipal Work Plan on Accelerating the High-Quality Development of the Biomanufacturing Industry".The "Plan" points out that the five major fields of biomedicine, biomaterials, biofood, biohealth and bioagriculture will be focused on. Among them, the direction of biomedicine is focusing on key areas such as gene editing and bioinformatics, we will empower the traditional pharmaceutical industry with disruptive technologies such as synthetic biology and artificial intelligence, and carry out basic research layout, core technology research, independent research and development of key equipment and consumables, support the development of cutting-edge innovative enterprises, focus on promoting antibody drugs, vaccine drugs, the industrialization process of nucleic acid drugs, cell and gene therapy, recombinant proteins and peptides, focusing on promoting innovative biological drugs, biosimilar drugs, and bio-based APIs development on a large scale.

To fully cultivate and demonstrate the vitality of the CGT industry in the Greater Bay Area, the third Greater Bay Cell and Gene Therapy Development Forum- InnoXBio2025 will be held on September 25-26 in Guangzhou Knowledge City. The conference will invite 90 speakers to share the latest progress in cell therapy, gene therapy, RNA therapy and stem cell therapy and achievements.
